By initiating an entirely new, expansive program, we will assist emerging artists as they grow professionally and explore their media. Through a juried process, artists will be chosen for solo exhibitions that provide them with increased gallery experience and promotion. The Peeler Peacock takes this a step further by arranging a structured mentorship between the emerging artist and an experienced artist that includes vital critique and support. Finally, the program provides a stipend to the artist to offset production costs, and an honorarium to the mentors in gratitude for their time. The Peeler Peacock will serve as a primary venue of artistic and professional growth for emerging artists in the Southern Finger Lakes. The Peeler Peacock's debut solo artist is Bradford Leiby. The spring 2017 solo artist is Jessi Moore.
Two solo shows will occur every year. The current application is for fall 2017 and spring 2018 solo exhibitions. Each award includes:
Solo exhibition in The Peeler Peacock Gallery
Pairing with a mentoring artist for support and critique
$500 stipend to help offset production fees
Promotiong, marketing, and opening reception events
