Art for Homeschoolers • Exploring Glass Art
The Art for Homeschoolers class is a combination of art appreciation, art history and art creation. Students will dive into artworks and through various activities such as creative writing, discussion, engaging their senses, etc. students will build a personal connection with the art and the heart behind the piece. Students will then create art based on what we’re learning that day.

During this 6-week class we will focus on glass artists such as Louis Comfort Tiffany, Frank Lloyd Wright. We’ll learn about famous glass installations such as the Rose Window at Notre Dame Cathedral and we will visit the Houghton Gallery downstairs and have a full experience enjoying Marjorie Hoffman’s solo exhibit and analyzing her beautiful eclectic style glasswork.

Students will create their own artwork to simulate the use of glass in the artist’s style and will also work with mosaic glass.
