In this two day class, you will learn the very basics of creating flat pieces of crocheted work. We will focus on four basic crochet stitches and one decorative stitch that are suitable for beginners; chain, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, and the bobble or popcorn stitch. Students will learn how to work in straight rows as well as how to work in the round. We will also cover important foundational information to help students understand yarn gauge and give them knowledge which will allow them to pick the best yarn and hook for their project and skill level.
By the end of the class, students can expect to leave with their own hook and yarn as well as a started project of their choice, which they will be able to finish with the skills taught in this class. Students should not come with the expectation of finishing a major piece by the end of the two day class but can expect to begin one if they choose.
