Dear People Wall Book Supporter,
The Corning Painted Post Historical Society is pleased to announce the release of the new book People Wall ’76: The Mural in City Hall by Barbara Hall Blumer.
We are excited to be part of this years-long, community driven project!
After three years of research and community collaboration, the puzzle of People Wall has been solved. Over 400 people have participated in identifying, verifying and providing input for the history of this unique one-of-kind work of public art.
This book tells the fascinating history of the People Wall mural and the stories of its larger-than-life people. It is a story about civic pride, not only when it was created for the 1976 Bicentennial and the opening of the new City Hall but now.
It’s 208 pages with over 225 color images and is filled with fun facts about the City of Corning and its culture. It is designed to be enjoyable to read even if you don’t know the people in the mural.
I am reaching out to you because you have expressed interest in pre-ordering the new People Wall to let you know how to do it.
We have set up a QR code to make it easy to order (see below). Just hover over the QR code with your cell phone camera and it will take you directly to our secure website shopping cart where you can pay by credit card.
Or you can contact me as to how to pay by check.
Our goal is to have 100 books on order by Nov 2.
Pick up will begin the week of Nov 20, just before Thanksgiving.
The cost is $76 plus tax.
All proceeds will go to the Corning Painted Post Historical Society for our efforts to preserve our local history.
It makes a great gift!
