Community Arts of Elmira

An exhibition of work created by students from youth centers who participated in this year’s
STEAM Ahead Chemung program will be on display at Community Arts of Elmira on
November 20th from 3:30-5 pm. The community is invited and welcome to attend. This is
STEAM Ahead Chemung’s third successful year, and providers included the Arnot Art
Museum, Chemung County Historical Society, Community Arts of Elmira, Corning Museum of
Glass, Namaste Event Spa and Wellness Center, Science & Discovery Center, and Tanglewood
Nature Center and Museum. Participating Youth Centers were Frontline Youth Center,
Neighborhood Transformation Center, and Southside Community Center. This year children
created both 2-D and 3-D work, as they explored the theme of motion with the seven providing
organizations. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, and the
program is financed with a $5,000 grant from the Triangle Fund.
