Annual Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl Planned for “Local Yarn Store Day”

Four local yarn shops will have events, promotions and prizes on Saturday, April 27, 2024

Four local yarn shops are planning the third annual Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl to celebrate Local Yarn Store Day on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10am – 5pm.   Needlecrafters are encouraged to visit all four shops and have their Yarn Crawl Passport stamped to be eligible for prizes. The participating shops are:

The Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl is an event for knitters, crocheters, spinners and weavers to travel from store to store exploring what each has to offer and finding inspiration for new projects. Each shop is planning unique promotions, trunk shows as well as exclusive fiber products for the festivities. Participants are encouraged to check out the Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl Facebook Group for event promotions, parking, dining, and carpool information.

“It’s great fun!” Crawler Pat Jackson tells us. “Go with a friend, check out the yarn and things related to yarn, and afterward, compare your “finds”.”

Knitter Ellen Kathan shares, “Last year was my first time participating in the Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl, and I had so much fun visiting each shop. The featured projects and yarns I purchased have been perfect for winter knitting.  Can’t wait for this year’s Yarn Crawl.”

And repeat Door Prize Winner, Ruth Riesbeck writes, “The Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl is a lovely way to spend a Saturday in April while supporting our local yarn shops.  I’ve participated in the first two crawls and have enjoyed my visits to the stores – it’s not difficult to get to all four shops in one day, even if you start late!  Each shop is unique with its own personality.  I cannot say enough about the yarns that are available – they are beautiful, making decisions very, very difficult!  The shop owners have created inspiring and friendly environments to show off their yarns, supplies and other gifts.  They have something for everyone, beginners and experts alike.  I’ve been delighted with everything I’ve purchased and have been lucky enough to win some amazing door prizes!  I can’t wait to be a part of this event again!”

The shop owners say, “As small business owners, we are delighted to host the Twin Tiers Yarn Crawl for the third year. Each shop showcases the immense variety of fiber products and a unique sense of community. We welcome our existing customers and encourage new fiber and needle art makers to come celebrate with us!”

Local Yarn Store Day is an annual yarn shop appreciation day created by The National Needlearts Association (TNNA). The 2024 LYS Day is designed to show support for small businesses while bringing together a unique community of enthusiasts to drive awareness and celebrate fiber craft. Vendors and retailers alike tout the benefits of locally owned yarn stores through an array of special products, classes, and more.
