The Hudson River School artists, led by Thomas Cole, played an important role in bringing imagery of the American wilderness into the cultural sphere. This group of artists typically depicted grandiose landscapes of New York, including the Catskills, Adirondacks, and the Hudson River Valley.
Thomas Cole’s “Autumn in the Catskills” is on view in “Walking with Nature: American Landscapes from the Collection” in the East Gallery until 26 June 2021.

Gallery Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10am – 5pm; Saturday, Noon-5pm. Closed Sunday, Monday and Holidays.
Admission: $7 per person, free to those under 18. Admission is always free to Museum Members!

Directions: Exit 56 from Route 17/86 (Church Street Exit). Turn left at the forth traffic signal onto Lake Street. Free parking is available in the Museum parking lot at the rear of the building, bordering Baldwin Street.
