Grants Received in 2016

Corning, NY, March 21, 2016 – The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) is pleased to announce recipients of the 2016 Community Arts, Teaching Artist, and Individual Artist grant programs. Thirty-eight area artists and organizations will receive a total of $85,000 for community and school-based arts and cultural programs taking place in 2016.

Since 1978, these grants have been made possible through Decentralization funds, public money mandated by the New York State Legislature to encourage increased participation at the local level in the state’s cultural funding process. These grants enable artists and organizations to enhance the artistic and cultural climate in our communities and fulfill a vital mission of The ARTS Council of making arts and culture accessible to all.
