2024 Solo Show Program - Supporting Emerging Creative Expression

The Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery at The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes serves as a primary venue for emerging creative expression in the Southern Finger Lakes. Creating a safe space for artists to experiment with new techniques, content, and concepts, two solo shows, one in Spring 2024 and one on Fall 2024, will be awarded.

Solo show recipients will receive a month long solo show, advanced support and guidance, a generous stipend to help offset exhibition costs, and promotion.

Eligibility & Award Criteria

Visual artists of all disciplines and over 18 years of age are eligible to apply. Artists must live and/or work in Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, or Tioga counties of New York State. ARTS Council Artist Members living and/or working outside these counties are also eligible to apply.

Work of any medium and theme can be exhibited including wall art, floor standing, and pedestal work. Artwork must be original work created by the artist specifically for this show.

Solo shows are awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Exhibition Concept
  • Strength of Artistic Work Samples
  • Overall Artistic Vision

Priority is given to the following:

  • Artists who explore techniques, content, and concepts new to them
  • Artists and/or shows that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Artists who have not previously had a solo exhibition

Application Deadline & Submission

The application deadline is 11:59pm on Friday, June 2, 2023. Applications are submitted online.
