The ARTS Council works to enhance the quality of life in our area, both directly and indirectly, through the support and advocacy of the regional arts and cultural community. Through our Programs and Outreach platform The ARTS Council provides the necessary connections, marketing, programming and opportunities to increase public awareness of art that will ultimately benefit our members and our community.

Community Programs for Professionals
The ARTS Council provides a full range of services to artists and arts/cultural organizations of all disciplines and at all stages of their careers in Steuben, Schuyler and Chemung counties and beyond. We understand that to be an artist is only one piece of the puzzle so we offer programming such as our “Business of Art” series, where we bring in experts who provide information and resources to artists on how to build their careers, as well as “Poets in Play,” giving regional poets the opportunity to read their work while creating conversations in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Marketing opportunities are provided through our newsletter and online calendar, as well as through traditional print media. Ideas on how we can help you are always welcome and encouraged!
Programs and Outreach for Kids
The ARTS Council seeks to promote the awareness of and importance of art education for children of all ages. With programs such as National Youth Art Month, where we work with regional art teachers and area businesses to display over 1,500 pieces of youth artwork over the course of one month, as well as the Student Art Society, where we offer workshops, mentoring and portfolio reviews for students seeking careers in the field of art, The ARTS Council is always looking for ways to offer our support and programming to area youth.

Community
Not only does The ARTS Council provide programming for its membership base, but also programming that serves the needs of the community while promoting area arts and culture. Collaboration is an important aspect of what we do. Through projects such as the Points of Inspiration Driving Trails and Geocache Adventure to the Garden of Fire and Dia de los Muertos Celebration, The ARTS Council partners with other area organizations to provide fun and educational program opportunities throughout our region.
