Artists Annual Business Planning Workshop with Laura Thorne
We often jump headlong into the new year without mapping the year out, which leads to anxiety, continuously overbooked calendars, missed deadlines, and lack of focus. To combat these issues, we’re going to take a little time out to get organized and prepare ourselves and our calendars for what we want to accomplish in the upcoming year. Our process combines creativity with a strategy to get all your big projects, deadlines, and other key dates onto your calendar so you can back into your marketing and planning efforts. We’ll start by overviewing some key concepts, then do a few exercises to collect important calendar priorities and milestones, and then turn your calendar into a proactive tool rather than a tracking device. This is NOT A goal setting workshop. Come to this workshop with your goals and we’ll fill the gap between goal setting and manifesting. This crucial process is overlooked by business owners who are stuck head-down in their work. It’s great to have a lot of work to do, but it’s not so great when you don’t have control over deadlines, are constantly in frantic mode, and make excuses for never taking a break.Topics:- Flow vs structure

Foundations in Marketing Strategies for Artists with Becky Sciullo
Becky Sciullo will be presenting a 3-part virtual workshop series on Foundations in Marketing Strategies for Artists. Join us for all three sessions or just one or two.
For today’s visual artists, the good news is that many resources and platforms exist to market and sell art both in-person and online. Most of the artists Becky works with are trying out some of these tools and having some selling success. The challenge comes in putting together a marketing system that effectively makes the most of time and money spent in the business.
This program guides artists through setting up a manageable system that becomes a focused hub for a thriving art business. While the system is web-based, it supports all artist marketing activities including in-person events such as exhibits, studio tours, and festivals.
The first session will include building a dynamic web presence, overcoming challenges, and building a management system that works.
Many artists felt the pain of canceled exhibitions, festivals, and other
opportunities due to Covid-19 over the past two years. Yet, opportunities
were still available for those who positioned themselves well online. It’s
more important than ever for visual artists to have a dynamic web
presence. There are challenges, though, to putting a creative business
online. It can be daunting to build and maintain a website, let alone
consistently share a consistent message with the world. Frustrated by
technology, short on time, or overwhelmed at all of their options, many artists get stuck before starting.Overcome These Challenges:
Artists will learn how to consistently share work with an audience across
various marketing channels such as social media and email marketing using
a simple three-part marketing system.Becky uses personal experience and real-life examples to outline a system
any visual artist can use. The information is relevant for artists currently
using many popular web platforms such as WordPress, Weebly,
Squarespace, and Faso – or artists who do not yet have a website.Build a Manageable System That Works:
Artists will gain a new enthusiasm for building a web presence, whether
starting from scratch or improving upon an existing website.Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 6:00 pm—8:00 pm

how to manage marketing time while working while creating and maintaining a saleable body of work. It’s Possible with Prioritization
The first step is for the artist to identify the best channels for their work and business model. The first half of this presentation
reviews traditional and non-traditional marketing channels and how they can determine which ones are best for their business.Consistency is Key
Then, artists will learn to manage the channels regularly without getting frustrated or eating into too much studio time. This includes an outline of simple strategies and daily activities they
