Stitched Across the Valley: A Cross-Cultural Embroidery Exhibit is open March 6 through June 19, 2014. Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm at the Chemung Valley History Museum, 415 East Water Street, Elmira, New York.
Stitched Across the Valley is a project of The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes and the Chemung County Historical Society.
Join us for these Stitched Across the Valley events:
- Embroidery Show-and-Tell with embroidery expert, Eniko Farkas: Thursday, March 27, 7 to 8 pm
- Family Stitch-in with Fanny Arango-Keeth (Peru), Mary Ann Bilsky (Ukraine), Eniko Farkas (Hungary), and Usha Shah (India): Saturday, April 12, 1 to 3 pm
- Secret Codes in Embroidery with scholars, Dr. Fanny Arango-Keeth and Eniko Farkas: Saturday, May 17, 1 to 3 pm
- Member Only Reception – Meet the Artists: Thursday, June 19, 5:30 to 7 pm
All programs are free, and unless noted, are open to the public. They will be held at the Chemung Valley History Museum, 415 East Water Street, Elmira, New York.
