The Urban Arts Crawl presents The Face Mask as a Canvas, a juried art exhibition.
The face mask has become a highly charged symbol of defiance/solidarity, self-expression/disguise, and beauty/functionality. In this juried exhibition for the Urban Arts Crawl, artists have created wearable fine art face masks as a means of expression, displaying their view of these strange and intense times. Artists were encouraged to explore themes around self-protection, care for others, activism, hidden chronic illness, and identity, to name a few. Masks will be on display at The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, The Rockwell Museum, West End Gallery, 171 Cedar Arts Center, and Card Carrying Bookstore – all located in Corning, NY. The exhibit will be on view through October 25, 2020.
