I am a glass flameworking professional with diverse experience in glass flameworking, teaching, and presenting. I have degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science, and have always loved glass. My major life change came when I had the great opportunity to work in Corning, NY and was "smitten" by glass. My first date with my husband was a hands-on open house at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.  I left the "engineering-faith" so to speak to use the artistic side of my brain full time in 2006. I have taught over 10 years at The Corning Museum of Glass and local studios.  I have been a teaching assistant for world class glass artists such as Paul Stankard, Emilio Santini, Debbie Tarsitano, Loren Stump, etc. I have participated in juried shows and exhibits at the Glass Art Society Conference, West End Gallery, Clothesline, Arts in the Gardens, etc.  My work has been published in magazines such as: The Flow Magazine, LAMMAGA, The GlassBead Magazine, and the Canandaigua Magazine. I now have my own studio in Honeoye, NY (the lovely Finger Lakes region).

    Debb VanDelinder

Born in 1961, American artist Debb VanDelinder is a digital media artist working in the Southern Tier of New York. Vandelinder works in Scanography, also known as scanner photography. Her work is most notable for her large-scale natural images. She uses flowers, fruit, bones, eggs, rock and other natural objects in unusual and unexpected combinations to convey her meanings. Strongly influenced by the works of artists Georgia O'Keeffe and Andy Goldworthy, VanDelinder has said, "I think it is interesting to combine objects out of context. I enjoy creating meaning through these juxtapositions. My particular challenge is to communicate the emotions, situations, allegories and experiences of human life, via still life. The path of my experience is what I draw on. The meanings are archetypical and universal. The images I make represent pieces of my own personal history, and echo the story of a collective humanity. "VanDelinder's work was first recognized nationally in 2002 when she was chosen as one of 30 international digital artists for the MacWorld Digital Art Gallery. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout the Upstate Regions of New York, around the country and most recently in Santa Fe, NM where she was chosen for inclusion in Decadence (curated by John O'Hern) at EVOKE Contemporary. VanDelinder is represented by Exhibit A Comptemporary Art, in Corning NY. Her profile will appear in the March 2012 issue of Professional Artist Magazine. Grace Deming

hello, nice to meet you! I am an artist and designer from small town northeastern Pennsylvania. As early as I can remember, I have always been creating. I have dabbled in many things but I have always loved storytelling and communicating through illustration and design. I decided to pursue it as a career, graduating with my Associates degree in Fine Art and Design from Corning Community College in 2015. Feeling a little unsure of what to do next, I realized I enjoyed communicating and solving problems visually.  I then decided to transfer into a Bachelor's program at Mansfield University going on to earn my Graphic Design degree in 2017. In recent years I have primarily focused on my digital art illustrations, photography, and painting / drawing traditionally using acrylic and gouache. My sketches, works in progress and newer finished pieces can be seen on my Instagram where I am most active so be sure to follow me! (@deming_grace)

A lifelong resident of Steuben county, I was lucky enough to have had an excellent art teacher for four years in high school learning about various techniques and about the old masters. I became serious about creating art after my children left home and have taken classes and workshops in North Carolina and Michigan, and locally with Wilson Ong, a professional artist from Corning. I think I have finally found my niche with new techniques and mixed medias that I'm creating now.

    Laura Charles

My name is Laura Charles and my work is done with both digital and traditional media, starting with paper, pencil and ink, and finishing in Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter. I am also a huge fan of experimenting in oil paints and charcoal and I regularly  sketch in my sketchbook. I am teaching classes at 171 Cedar Arts Center in Corning, New York and I am always looking for exciting projects in book and game illustration or in concept art! I've known since my first scribbles on my mothers legal pads that my calling was in visual storytelling. I supposed that it was the result of the hours I would spend holed up in my room reading fantasy stories and creating my own adventures with my stuffed animals and pets. Becoming an illustrator was the natural result of my attraction to story, since even when reading my favorite childhood authors, I was never far from my crayons and paper where I would draw favorite scenes of books I read, or those of my own made-up world. In school, I was, of course, and incurable doodler. Now my doodling has earned me my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from The Cleveland Institute of Art and a Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Development for 2D Animation from The Academy of Arts University. You can my www.LauraCharlesStudio.com and view my portfolio, or my Art Blog. If you would like to hire me, or have any questions about my process, check out my Contact page!
