Vickie Mike is a professional artist who lives and works in Elmira, New York. Born in upstate New York, Vickie Mike completed her undergraduate studies at Brockport State and went on to earn a master’s degree at the State University of Buffalo and a doctorate at Binghamton University. With her degrees in Spanish literature and education, Vickie began her career as a teacher. Though she continued to teach in public schools for many years, Vickie pursued her interests in the arts. In 2010, Vickie left the classroom to dedicate herself full time to her art. Her abstract art reflects the merger of the traditional aspects of drawing and painting with digital imaging. In the fall of 2011 Vickie was one of three artists in residence with the Community Arts of Elmira. Her work has been selected for exhibits at the State of the Art Gallery in Ithaca, the Chemung Valley History Museum, and the Soaring Museum at Harris Hill, as well as the Franklin Street Gallery in Watkins Glen.
