A Big Impact for Local Creatives and The ARTS Council

The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) announces today grant awards totaling $566,695 from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the arts and culture sector.

Through New York State’s continued investment in arts and culture, NYSCA has awarded $80.9 million in FY2026 to arts and culture nonprofits across all 10 regions and a historic number of artists. The ARTS Council is thrilled to be counted among the recipients this year.

Support for Organizations

The ARTS Council received a $40,000 Support for Organizations grant to support its Programs, Folk Arts, and Gallery work.

Statewide Community Regrant Awards

Additionally, The ARTS Council received $408,395 to administer the Statewide Community Regrant program for Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga Counties. An increase over the previous year’s funding, this program will directly support artists, cultural organizations, and towns throughout the Southern Finger Lakes.

Statewide Professional Development Grants for Museums Regrant Program

The ARTS Council received $48,300 to administer the Statewide Professional Development Grants for Museums regrant program. Open to museums across New York State, stay tuned for forthcoming details about eligibility and the application process.
