Project Title: Surviving Agnes: The Flood of ’72 Remembered
Project Summary: Stories of survivors of the 1972 flooding in Corning and Elmira NY performed by choir and instrumental accompaniment. Stories documented as folklore will be woven into original music that combines elements of folk, pop, classical, and other genres.

Work Statement Excerpt: “This project is intended to discover and share previously unheard stories recounting tragedy and triumph experienced around the 1972 flood. Horror, humor, and all emotions between experienced by those affected by the raging waters will be explored in text and music shaped to highlight the full range of emotions that accompany flooding.
